Rae Theodore – Rae can’t remember a time when she wasn’t in love with books. Rae is the author of Leaving Normal: Adventures in Gender (Regal Crest, 2017), a memoir that takes a hard, humorous and sometimes heartbreaking look at living outside the gender margins without a rulebook. She works as a staff writer for one of the world’s largest communication firms and lives in Royersford, Pennsylvania, with her wife, kids and cats. Her favorite day of the week is Tuesday because that’s when her writer’s group meets. Rae is honored to be president of the Greater Philadelphia branch of the WNBA and sees it as an opportunity to share her love of reading, writing and all book-related things with other like-minded people.
Elizabeth Mosteller – Elizabeth started the Greater Philadelphia Chapter after discovering the National WNBA and realizing there was no local chapter! A passionate educator and an emerging writer, she values books and writing in her personal and professional lives. She loves surrounding herself with the amazing, strong women of Women’s National Book Association and is excited to see our chapter continue to grow!
Carli Ducko – Carli is a part-time undergraduate student at West Chester University of Pennsylvania who will specialize in linguistics and education upon graduation. Always having been an avid reader and aspiring writer, Carli initially got involved in the Women’s National Book Association when she was in a college course taught by past president, Elizabeth Mosteller. As a child, her love of books took precedence over every other aspect of her life. Currently, she works full-time an an Assistant in Spring-Ford Area School District and has worked with a variety of students ranging from elementary to high school age. When not working, she can be found reading to her young son, or watching him read from across the room.
Dee Kindt – Dee has a background in business and is currently working as an Office Manager in Allentown, PA. She is also Certified in Elementary Education K- 6 through DeSales University, and English as a Second Language through Penn State University. She is a definitive foodie, and takes pride as a Consultant with her part-time business with Tastefully Simple. Being an avid reader all her life has fueled a love of writing, and recently a fascination with acting which keeps her quite busy in her free time.
Brittany Berry – Currently, studying Communications to one day become a Journalist, Brittany received her Associate’s Degree in 2015 and continued her education in the Fall of 2016. She likes to keep herself busy with swimming, writing & everything in between! She owes her love for reading to her family.
Cindy Mannon – Cindy Mannon has been teaching in the Perkiomen Valley School District since 1995 after graduating from Moravian College in Bethlehem. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher and moved to second grade for four years. Cindy has returned to teaching her favorite age group, kindergarten children, who are full of energy and curiosity. She also has a master’s degree from Cabrini College in Elementary Education. Being a wife and mother of three is one of her most important jobs! In her free time, she enjoys reading and writing. She is an aspiring author.
Shelley Douglas – Shelley Douglas is a reading specialist in the Perkiomen Valley School District and a former classroom teacher. In her thirty plus years as an educator, she has embraced many new ideas and innovative teaching methods, has learned from her mistakes, and is still searching for answers. She is an avid reader of adult and children’s fiction, and a proud volunteer of the Montgomery County Reading Olympics for children.
Kim Lehman – Kim is a Management Consultant and a Certified Project Manager (PMP) for Healthcare, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences companies. She has a B.A. in Communications and a Master’s degree is Business Administration. Kim is also the co-founder of a small independent publishing company, the creator of My Booket List (a reading journal for booklovers), and the author of the young adult fiction books Righteous and First, Last, and Always. When she isn’t puzzling over projects and penning fictional characters, she bikes, hikes, laughs like crazy with her nieces and nephews, and enjoys reading, traveling and quiet nights at home with her husband.
Ann Marie Meehan – Ann Marie obtained her degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania, and is actively seeking to make a career shift away from accounting and into a writing based position. She and her husband, John, and their dog, Jennie Roo, are avid travelers and adventure-seekers, which makes for rich fodder for her writing. Their travel resume includes Morocco, where Ann Marie found a sympathetic dromedary capable of carrying her across the desert.
Sharon Hajj – Sharon has always had a special place in her heart for books since she believes they are a form of escape or transformation. She is focused on writing children’s books and is the author of THE CLOCK TOWER, which is a MG fantasy. In addition to writing short stories, she enjoys reading her work at the WNBA story jams. Sharon is a member of Just Write writing group and she values the community and activities offered by by both the writer’s group and the Women’s National Book Association.
